Addiction Counselor Training School

Licensed Chemical Dependency Counseling Training

Course 4 will start on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. This course will cover Counseling Dysfunctional Family Systems and Interventions. You can start any class every five weeks if you attend the entire class.

The Addiction Counselor Training School provides the 270 required education hours and the 300 hours of supervised practicum necessary to become an LCDC Intern. The San Antonio location received the Certificate of Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission on August 24, 2016; our first graduate was on September 12, 2017.

All students must attain an Associate’s Degree within five years of obtaining the LCDC Intern status to become fully Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors. The 270 hours are approved for 18 CEU hours, and the 300-hour practicum is approved for 7 CEU hours at some universities. The acceptance of the hours is at the discretion of each university. We are working with online colleges and Universities to help our students enter the field immediately and acquire an Associate’s degree during their internship.

We are scheduling appointments for interested students to call us and register. Please get in touch with Steve at 210-541-8400 to start the classes or come in and look at the facilities. Classes will be small and personal, but we have space to grow.

We continuously update the curriculum to include new therapeutic approaches and improve old techniques.

NOTE—We receive phone calls from several facilities throughout the state seeking LCDCs and Counselor Interns; there are numerous opportunities.

SG 2013

“I am blessed by the Lord to have a friend who went through the program. I have enjoyed the family atmosphere and making new friends. When you say ‘intensive’ you mean it. It is what I had to have otherwise I was on the way to losing my wife, job and probably hurting myself or someone else. It is up to me to manage my recovery by the tools I have learned here. Those include the importance of attending meetings, admitting I’m powerless, getting a sponsor and working the steps. It’s really a good feeling that the Lord has given me a new journey taken this life. At some point in time I would like to talk about becoming a counselor.”

MC 2013

I remember when I first walked in; I was full of resentment and denial. Slowly but surely the staff and my co-members begin getting to me. I began relating to my co-members and actually listening to Steve, Nancy and other counselors. Each of the staff members contributed to my recovery and I appreciate them all. Each one taught me something and used only truths and facts to make their points. I give thanks and praise to my father in heaven every day, but I don’t think I ever thanked the staff (office staff included) enough. Please know I am grateful to all of you and all you all much gratitude, not just for my sobriety but for the knowledge and the education and the insight that I received in my two months with you all.
